Building muscle mass, build muscle fast, increase strength, and cut

with a lot of myths."
The
majority of guys who train as hard as you want to build mass, yet remain
defined. Only a small percentage of those of us who lift want to look
like NFL offensive linemen or Eastern European powerlifters. Don't get
me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that type of physique, those guys
could bench press my garage...but it is specific to the way they earn
a living. Most of us want to build defined, dense, lean muscle.
Big myth #1: Contrary to what magazines or personal trainers
cite , high reps will not give you added definition. This lie
is almost as bad as the "spot training for abs " myth. (Know
anyone who purchased an "AbRoller"...or two?) In both cases
the goal is to get cut up, and in both cases no amount of repetitions
will give you the definition you desire. Busting your butt with 500
more crunches per day will definitely strengthen your abs...they just
won't cut them up. (You'll come to understand that spending more
time in the weightroom will actually sabotage your program to pack on
muscle.)
Muscle definition occurs when you have very little subcutaneous fat
between your skin and muscles. There are really only two ways of bringing
out muscular definition of a body part... one is increasing your total
body muscle-to-fat ratio substantially, and the other is losing the
fat using high intensity aerobic effort coupled with a sensible diet.

Those
two strategies are the only ways to reduce the fat between your
skin and muscle. Now you'll have the opportunity to learn them both.

Big
myth #2: Sets are the key to your ability to pack on muscle.
Your goal should not be the number of sets integrated into your workout,
rather it should be the intensity applied to an exercise, or a given
set. The most important element is to learn how to generate the right
intensity to each and every set performed (intensity is the Golden
Key) Once that requirement is met, then we can worry about the number
of sets performed.
The
theory of prescribed repetitions, is another issue that the muscle and
fitness magazines really screw up. Why? Because almost all professional
body builders in those magazines are using steroids and have a physician
monitoring their anabolic intake. It doesn't matter much what rep range
those guys use...they're going to grow freaky huge! (Uhhh...some minor
information the editors forgot to tell you about.) Is it any wonder
the rest of us don't measure up?
We've all worked hard, some of us for years...and then have been frustrated
with meager results. Ask yourself this: what will it take to make the
improvement you really deserve? Do you really need to train that much
harder...or do you need to train a bit smarter?
This year is going to be different. If you bust your butt, you deserve
results. You shouldn't have to find a physician to track your
steroid-cycles with a computer while you stick needles in yourself to
get them.
"Women
desire men who are tight, defined, and athletic looking."
It
has been said that 80% - 85% of those of us who workout are "Hardgainers"...meaning
we put on muscle slowly and our lifts increase slowly...as opposed to
guys who are genetically gifted, or are pounding steroids. If you feel
